Foreigner is heading out on Canadian and South American tours this year, and Kelly Hansen won't be present for either of them. When the band announced each leg, they mentioned "issues" that were hindering the singer from performing outside the country, but never specified what those issues were. In a new statement addressing his absence, Hansen explained that "residency issues have forced me to limit appearances outside of the USA this year and this means that I will miss some international shows."

Foreigner original singer Lou Gramm will be filling in on vocals during their South American trek that kicks off in April, and Geordie Brown will be fronting the band during their Canadian tour in the fall. Hansen assured fans that he is very much still in the lineup and will be performing during the band's US tour this spring, along with some shows over the summer.

"We had a great start to our touring year with a sold-out run in Florida, and I am so looking forward to continuing my journey with this incredible band," Hansen said. "We will be headlining the pre-race concert at the Long Beach Grand Prix on April 12 and continuing through the year with over 60 more shows."
