Texas Teen Shot While Selling iPhone To Person He Met On Instagram

A 14-year-old from Texas was shot in the hand while trying to sell an iPhone to a person he met on Instagram. Police say the teen and two adult friends went to meet the suspect around 1 a.m. on a residential street in Houston to make the sale.

As the teen went to hand over the iPhone, the potential buyer opened fire on the three individuals before fleeing in a gray car with the phone. The 14-year-old was shot in the hand, while one of the adults he was with was grazed in the back. The third person, who authorities said was pregnant, was not shot.

The boy was taken to the hospital is expected to make a full recovery.

Authorities are trying to track down the suspects, but have very little information to go on. They say they are looking for between two and five people who fled in a gray sedan. They are speaking with the 14-year-old to try to get a better idea of what the suspects looked like and exactly what went down during the sale.

“That many shots to fire at somebody, that’s just crazy,” Patrick Doellman, who lives in the area told KPRC. “You know, those rounds could go anywhere. They could have penetrated numerous of these houses, somebody else could have got hit (like) an innocent bystander.”
